Over the course of life, we accumulate hurts and wounds that impact how we function in our day to day lives. We can feel flooded by a range of difficult, often overpowering thoughts & emotions, including sadness, anger, anxiety, fear, feeling stuck, perfectionism, self-criticism – the list goes on. We also often experience challenges in our relationships as well as in our efforts to process and respond to overwhelming life events.
Internal Focus: I will help you locate and strengthen your inner resources of healing and resilience. Integrating experiential aspects of Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, and somatic therapies along with contextual, systemic and attachment-based framing, I will partner with you to guide your healing process. To this work, I bring compassion and grounded focus, along with warmth and humor.
Interconnected Relationships: We will explore the relationships that shape and impact your life, including intergenerational family of origin dynamics, intimacy, friendships, work life and/or school.
Systemic: We will incorporate awareness of your social locations (race, age, gender identity, socioeconomic class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, ability, and so forth). In this way, we can incorporate with sensitivity an understanding of the impacts of the shifting opportunities and challenges you experience due to these larger systemic forces.
Transformation through Inner Balance: By accessing deep internal resources, you will be able to heal the autopilot reactions that aren’t working for you. By helping you shift how you relate to yourself, to those around you, and to the world, you will be able to show up in all of the spheres of your life with greater confidence, courage, balance, and self-compassion.
I offer an experiential, integrative psychotherapy approach that is:
Internally focused
Relationally connected
Systemic
Deeply transformative
